The Chemistry Tutor

Hi, I am Dr Torben Smith, an experienced Chemistry tutor and academic coach with a proven track record of student success. For about two decades I was the Head of Faculty and Course Leader for one of the top A-level Chemistry departments in the UK, along with private tutoring each year for just a few families.

In 2023 I made a highly succesful move so that my time is dedicated to providing top-quality one-to-one tutoring along with student support between sessions.

My regular timetable for 2026–27 is now full. I may still be able to make room for one additional student; please check the availability page before getting in touch.

Master OCR A-Level Chemistry

How much is A-level Chemistry Tutoring?

My regular timetable for 2026–27 was fully booked by mid-August.

I keep a waiting list for regular places that become available, and students who can be flexible about lesson times may sometimes be able to use cancellation slots during the year.

For 2027–28 I intend to work with around ten regular weekly students, and I am now taking enquiries for places from June 2027.

2027–28 tuition: £200 per hour.
